I have adhered to the following core values as a trial judge for over ten years and, if elected, I will strive to live up to these values as a Supreme Court Justice:

1. Loyalty to our state and federal constitutions and to the people of Oregon.
2. Respect for legal authority and a commitment to the "rule of law."
3. Impartiality and equal treatment under law.
4. Basic fairness and concern for others.
5. Character: who we are as individuals and what shapes us.
6. Integrity: discerning right and wrong and standing on principle even at personal expense.
7. Earning public trust through honesty. Trust is "the glue of life."
